Part of what makes the study and learning of leadership skills so complicated is that we don't have a clear sense of how to organize what we see and hear. We can mistake personality and behavioral style for leadership attributes. We can start obsessing about our perceived leadership weaknesses and miss our leadership gifts. We can search for the silver bullet instead of the silver lining.
